EIGRP: Query Packets

Query Packets are sent out to neighbors to search for the best route to a destination subnet.  Updates and Queries are delivered reliably so they each will expect an Acknowledgement packet to be sent back to ensure the Query was sent.

Queries can be multicast and unicast, on broadcast domains with dynamic neighbors queries are sent as multicast, re-transmits are sent as unicast as needed for unresponsive neighbors.

On point to point interfaces queries are sent as unicast EIGRP Query packets use Opcode 3
